Bike Patrol
During the summer months, the Department deploys its Bike Patrol Program, Officers that are specially trained in the operation of a police bicycle take to the streets and patrol the Village.

Capitol Area Police Mutual Aid Response (CAPMAR)
CAPMAR is the first ever law enforcement multi-agency coordinated mutual-aid response program to be implemented in Dane County, consisting of 23 law enforcement agencies.

Drone Program
The McFarland Police Department in conjunction with the McFarland Fire Department operate a Drone Program.

Drug Enforcement Unit
While all patrol officers are trained in drug interdiction tactics, more in-depth investigations are handled by this unit, which consists of one Sergeant and three specially trained officers.

Field Training Unit
In addition to having attended the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy, new recruits are upon hire assigned to a department Field Training Officer (FTO) for a minimum of 14 weeks.

Investigative Unit
The Department's investigative unit consists of two Investigators. They investigate a variety of crimes, and also perform other critical tasks.

Peer Support Program
Law enforcement is considered one of the most stressful careers, and the effects of this stress on an officer can cause long-term issues.

School Resource Officer
During the school year, the Department commits a full-time police officer solely to the function of working within our school campuses.
